The Spanish national team has reached the last two Nations League finals and completed an impressive group stage in the current edition of the competition. With five wins and one draw, they dominated their League A group at will, despite facing tough opposition from teams like Denmark and Switzerland. Up front, coach Luis de la Fuente already has the next rising star on his hands, the 20-year-old Samu from Porto. The youngster scored no fewer than half a dozen goals in nine appearances for the Spanish national youth team in the ongoing qualifiers for the upcoming European Championship and he made his breakthrough at club level in Porto this season. The Netherlands reached the final of the Nations League in 2019, losing 0-1 to Portugal. Now the three-time World Cup runners-up are aiming to reach the final four again. However, the Dutch failed to impress from an attacking perspective in the group stage away from home. While they scored eleven goals in their three home matches against Germany, Bosnia and Hungary, they have not scored more than two goals in as many away games. |
